Who We Are

Oak & Sage Behavioral was founded and is led by Julianne Rodriguez, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA).

With nearly a decade of experience across clinical services, leadership, and quality assurance within ABA organizations, Julianne has worked with children and families across home, school, and clinic settings. In addition to her clinical roles, her work of consulting with ABA organizations nationwide gained insight into the variability of service models and clinical standards across the field.

These experiences shaped her decision to create Oak & Sage: a practice built to prioritize quality over quantity and intention over automation. In a field where clinical oversight and direct implementation are often separated, Oak & Sage operates as a fully BCBA-delivered model - a structure that remains uncommon within traditional ABA systems.

Our Story

When I was a young girl living in Westlake Village, I had a teenage neighbor with a disability. I was too young to understand her diagnosis, but I remember how easily we connected - playing dolls together, running around tagging each other around the apartment complex, and becoming close friends.

Someone would regularly come to her home to work with her, and I was often invited to join them. I would sit and play while she taught my neighbor various skills and supported her when she became overwhelmed. At the time, I didn’t know what that therapy was called, but I knew I wanted to do that when I grew up - to help individuals with disabilities.

Years later, when it came time to choose my career path, I initially pursued Speech-Language Pathology. Just before beginning my master’s program, I came across a “Behavior Therapist” position in Thousand Oaks. Within my first 2 weeks, I realized this was the same therapy my neighbor had received. I immediately shifted my path to Applied Behavior Analysis and that lead me here today.

The same passion and care I felt for my childhood neighbor remains embedded in my work today.

Through my experience in this field, I came to understand that what I consider baseline care - thoughtful, compassionate, and ethical - is often viewed as “going above and beyond.

Oak & Sage was created to make that standard the norm.

Here, clinical expertise and compassionate care exist side by side. Families know who is guiding their child’s treatment, therapy integrates naturally into daily life, and quality is never compromised.

That remains our foundation.
